NYCN Ondo chapter holds intercessory prayers for Akeredolu

The chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), in Ondo State under its chairman, Pathfinder Ogunmolawa Adewale on Tuesday led members of the Council on intercessory prayer sessions for the quick and speedy recovery of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

A statement by the council said the special prayer sessions which held simultaneously at the Chapel of Grace and the Alh. Khaleel Fawehinmi Mosque, all at the Government House Grounds, Alagbaka Akure, were attended by NYCN members, some members of the State Executive Council including Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro; Commissioner for Water resources Bar. Fatai Oloru, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Mrs Juliana Osadahun, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security Matters, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Alh. Isiaka Elegberinbon, among others.

It said that at the well-attended intercessory prayer meeting, the leaders and other members of the NYCN raised their voices in prayers and prayed to God to restore the sound health of the first citizen fully.

According to the statement, the prayers held at the Alh. Khaleel Fawehinmi Mosque were led by the Grand Imam of Akure Empire, Abdul-Akeem Yayi Akorede, and the Chief Imam of the Mosque, Yunus Anola.

It said that another one also held at the Chapel of Grace was led by the Assistant Chaplain of the Chapel, Very Rev. Enoch Adeleke; Pastor Oladele Olusola, Pastor Aderotiba Gbenga; Rev Rufus Awoniyi; Evangelist Abiola Dele-Philip; Pastor Ekundayo Emmanuel; Pastor Ajibote Peter; Pastor Aladenika Adesuyi, among others.

In his remarks, the Chairman, of the Ondo State Chapter of the NYCN, Pathfinder Ogunmolawa Adewale, said the youths in the state need the Governor more than ever before as their Grand Patron and father, hence the need for the intercessory prayer sessions.

“If the father is sick the whole house will be in disarray. We believe that his sickness in Ondo State will not profit us anything, so we need to pray for his quick recovery so that things will continue moving the way they should be.

“We, as his sons and daughters (children), need him around us and that is why we organised intercessory prayers for his quick and speedy recovery so that Ondo State can continue to progress for the benefit of all”, the NYCN State Chairman added.

The statement said: “He specifically appreciated the massive turnout of the invited religious leaders and members of the NYCN, saying he was highly impressed with the attendance and their love and support for the governor. And he also thinks those that supported the program, are the light of one of our (NYCN) Patron, Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele for financial support, Rev. Raphael Agboola the Chairman, Christian Welfare Board, Alh. Jimoh Dojumo the SSA to Ondo State Governor on Security matters and Alh. Yunus Anola the Chief Imam of Government House for the roles they played for the successful of this program.”

In their different prayer points, the various religious leaders prayed that the Lord Who has anointed the Governor to start his tenure will help him to finish well in sound health.

The statement said: “They emphasised the importance of prayers of thanksgiving and forgiveness, saying they are convinced that all the prayers being offered for the governor are being answered by God, even as they asked God to grand the Governor speedy recovery.

They equally lauded members of the NYCN for deeming it fit to organise the prayer sessions, just as they encouraged all and sundry to continue to pray for the governor to return safe and sound to enable him to continue all his good works for the development of the state.

Yayi Akorede described the Governor as an exemplary leader and a voice for the voiceless who deserves ceaseless prayers and support from all to enable him successfully complete his tenure and serve the people better.

According to him, Governor Akeredolu has done so much for the people of the state across religious organizations, saying he deserves their prayers for his quick recovery.

He particularly thanked members of the NYCN for their turnout at the prayer sessions, saying that the only thing the governor needs from them at this critical time is fervent prayers, just as he charged others to emulate them.

On his part, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, who described the prayer sessions for the governor as unprecedented also said the youths are aiming higher and will surely be leaders of tomorrow.

He thanked them for appreciating what the Governor is doing not only in the state but the entire country”
