Amid speculations of internal rift within the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), party chieftain Hon. Jamiu Olawumi has denied any friction between former Deputy Governor Senator Iyiola Omisore and Minister of State for Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, over the implementation of the Professor Isaac Adewole Repositioning Committee Report.
Speaking with journalists in Osogbo, Olawumi dismissed claims attributed to an unnamed member of Agba Osun — the party’s apex Elders Council — that Omisore was undermining Oyetola. He clarified that the former Deputy Governor made no such attacks and stressed that the Minister has no direct involvement in the implementation of the committee’s recommendations.
Omisore, during a recent interactive session with key APC stakeholders including council and party chairmen, pledged to fully implement the committee’s recommendations if given the mandate to govern Osun State in the 2026 elections.
Reacting to a circulating statement titled “Omisore Stylishly Attacks Oyetola,” Olawumi stated that such claims were misleading.
He emphasized that Omisore’s ambition is rooted in unity and development, not personal attacks or political sabotage.
“Since ex-Governor Adegboyega Oyetola will no more contest, the implementation of the report is necessary to avoid inequality, disparities, and nepotism within the party,” Olawumi said.
