NMA Week: Okitipupa LG boss, Adesanya commends association for health care services

The Chairman Okitipupa Local Government in Ondo State, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, has commended the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, for it efforts on qualitative health services delivery.

He gave the commendation at Ikoya Comprehensive Health Centre during the association’s free medical mission as part of activities lined up for the 2019 Medical Week.

While appreciating NMA for choosing the State and Okitipupa Local Government in particular for the exercise, he said: “I  have to sincerely thank NMA for this landmark exercise. I  want to thank the national body for this great feat.

“We are so glad and elated that out of all the states in the federation, the exercise was brought to Ondo State, and out of all the Local Governments in Ondo State, it was brought to Okitipupa Local Government. We are so glad.  And I am very happy that this is happening during my administration.

“I also want to appreciate NMA for voting our son, Dr. Faduyile Francis Adedayo has it National President, it was indeed a rare privilege.” 

On the effort of the local government in complimenting the state government health care system, the council boss said the Local government has just inaugurated a task force on polio eradication aimed at giving the needed grassroots support.

He appealed to the NMA to, as mark of honour for the incumbent National President, Dr. Faduyile Francis, help in upgrading the facilities at the Ikoya Comprehensive Health Centre, which incidentally happens to be the NMA President’s home town.

In his own speech,  the National President,  NMA , Dr. Faduyile Adedayo thanked the  State Governor, Arakunrin  Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN)  for the his development strides aimed at uplifting the  social economic lives of the people particularly in the area of infrastructural development and health care.

He assured the people that by the grace of God, the  association would do everything possible to uplift the standard of the Ikoya Comprehensive Health centre to the status of a General Hospital.

During the exercise, free medical tests and treatment were carried out on a large number of people who came from all the towns and villages within the local government; while free surgical operations were carried out at Igbotako General Hospital by a team of medical personnel.
