A man, Jimoh Taofeek who allegedly killed his mother in Osun State has been remanded at the Ilesa Correctional Facility on the order of an Osogbo Magistrate Court.
He was arraigned by the Nigeria Police Force on a one-count charge of murder.
Police Prosecutor, ASP Fatoba Temitope,told the court that the incident occurred on February 19 at about 8:00 p.m. in the Oke-Ola area of Osogbo.
He said that the defendant pushed his mother, Taibat Jimoh, to the ground during a disagreement, which subsequently led to her death.
Temitope stated that the offence is contrary to Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
Presiding Magistrate, Mr. O. Olatunji, issued the remand order due to the severity of the alleged offence.
The defendant had no legal representation at the time of the court appearance.
