My 2 cents is that perhaps we need to see marriage as an opportunity to serve.
Some key words and sentences that come to mind here are:
Serving,
Helping,
Expecting nothing in return,
Welcome the romantic moments,
Welcome the work,
Welcome the ingratitude,
Be happy just to have the family in your life,
Respect the other,
Help the other when help is needed,
Be exemplary,
Realise you can change only yourself and you cannot change another human,
Love them truly,
Love them just the way they are,
Love yourself too,
Use best efforts to avoid conflicts,
Live at peace,
Let them be who they want to be,
Use words carefully,
Don’t put angry words into Creation,
Silence can be a winner on many occasions,
Preach with your actions not words. They know you only too well.
Now tell me, the percentage of romance in the above.😂
Yet, we can be intentional about our resolve to enjoy our marriage and be committed to it …
We can arrange regular outings.
We can laugh at each other.
We can mimic each other amid hearty laughter.
We can just be quiet and doze off on each other.
After those harsh words we can simply and genuinely apologise and resolve to do better next time…
It can be joy. Yes it can be fun amid the duties!❤️
