National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress and former Senate President, Senator David Mark
At last, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Wednesday officially recognised the David Mark-led leadership of the African Democratic Congress.
In a change to the party’s particulars on its website on Wednesday in Abuja, INEC listed the new executive members of the party, confirming the resolution of months of leadership tussle within the ADC.
The commission said the newly recognized National Working Committee of the ADC is led by Sen. Mark as National Chairman, while
Besides Mark, other principal officers now officially acknowledged by INEC include a former Osun State governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, as the National Secretary.
Others include Dr. Ibrahim Mani as National Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary, and Professor Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor as National Legal Adviser.
The development is expected to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, with stakeholders expressing optimism that the new leadership would provide stability and a clear direction for the ADC.
This development followed a period of internal restructuring within the party, which culminated in the emergence of new national officers aimed at repositioning the ADC ahead of future electoral contests.
With this formal endorsement, the ADC leadership is expected to commence a nationwide reconciliation and mobilisation effort, as the party seeks to strengthen its presence across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.
