The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has debunked a reported workers’ strike, as it assured its cusstomers of uninterrupted services.
However, it noted that the picketing organised by the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), was not acompany-wide action.
A statement by Angela Olanrewaju, the Coordinating Head of Corporate Services said that the union’s action was in response to concerns over the dismissal of certain employees.
It clarified that these staff were let to go due to consistent poor performance, in line with its Conditions of Service and due process.
Also, it stressed its commitment to employee welfare, noting that despite economic challenges, it has consistently paid full salaries and maintained a positive work environment.
It reassured its customers that normal operations are ongoing without disruption as the company remains dedicated to delivering quality services while prioritizing staff well-being.
