Fiwasaye Grammar School Akure opens for normal activities Monday – Govt

Ondo State Government on Sunday asked students and staff of Fiwasaye Grammar School, Akure, to report as usual for normal academic activities on Monday.

It gave the directive to counter some misleading information circulating.

Following is the full statement signed on behalf of the Education Commissioner, by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr. Akindele Ige:

“The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology wishes to clarify information currently circulating regarding the operational arrangement of Fiwasaye Grammar School, Akure, tomorrow.

The public is hereby informed that students and staff of Fiwasaye Grammar School, Akure, are to report to school as scheduled for normal academic activities tomorrow.

This clarification is necessary in view of the scheduled visit of His Excellency, the President, to a function taking place within the vicinity of the school. In consultation with relevant security agencies, appropriate arrangements have been put in place to ensure the safety, smooth movement, and orderly conduct of activities within and around the school environment.

Parents, guardians, students, staff, and members of the public are therefore advised to disregard any contrary information suggesting the suspension of school activities.

The Ministry assures all stakeholders that adequate security measures are in place, and there is no cause for alarm.

The Ministry appreciates the cooperation and understanding of all concerned.
