The Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji, FEDPOLEL, in Ondo State has warned admission seekers against patronizing some persons parading themselves as the institution’s admission agents.
In a statement on Tuesday by its spokesman, Mr Sanmi Enigbokan, the institution declared that it had no admission agents despite the claim of fraudsters.
According to the statement:”The attention of the Management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji (FEDPOLEL), Ondo State, has been drawn to the activities of some individuals allegedly parading themselves as admission agents of the Institution and exploiting unsuspecting admission seekers through unauthorised payment requests into personal accounts.
“Information available to the Management indicates that one of the individuals allegedly involved is identified on Truecaller as Dr. James Abu Zaria, with the mobile telephone number +234 906 023 4447.
“The individuals concerned are alleged to have adopted various fraudulent methods to deceive and extort unsuspecting admission seekers, including impersonating the Registrar, creating fake web addresses, issuing purportedly fake admission letters, and providing designated personal account details through which victims are allegedly induced to make payments for admission offers.
“For the purpose of alerting the public, the account details reportedly associated with the activities are as follows:

“The Management wishes to state emphatically, for the information and guidance of the general public and prospective students, that the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji does not appoint, recognise or encourage admission agents in its admission process.
“Admission into the Polytechnic is coordinated by the Division of Academic Affairs under the supervision of the Registrar, in accordance with the Institution’s approved procedures and relevant guidelines of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
“Accordingly, all prospective candidates seeking admission into the Polytechnic for the ongoing 2026/2027 Admission Cycle are strongly advised to follow only the official admission and registration procedures provided through the Institution’s authorised portal:

“Payment of the Acceptance Fee by successful applicants is to be made through:
app.fedpolel.edu.ng/appsigninadm using the applicant’s username and password.
“Payment of School Charges is to be made through the REMITA platform accessible via the Institution’s official portal:

“Prospective candidates and members of the public are hereby warned that any payment made to individuals, unauthorised platforms, websites or accounts outside the officially approved portals stated above is made at the payer’s own risk, and the Polytechnic shall not be responsible for any financial loss arising from such transactions.
“Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji is a responsible and responsive citadel of learning that cherishes its integrity, credibility and reputation. Management will not allow the Institution’s name and hard earned reputation to be compromised by individuals seeking to defraud or mislead prospective candidates and members of the public.
“Management therefore urges the relevant security and law-enforcement agencies, including the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to investigate the reported activities and, where appropriate, bring any persons found culpable to justice.
“Finally, prospective candidates and members of the public are strongly advised to be wary of individuals claiming to be admission agents of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji.
“All enquiries and requests for clarification concerning ongoing admission exercise should be channelled through the Institution’s authorised communication channels.
“Admission seekers are hereby advised: BE WARNED, BE VIGILANT AND VERIFY BEFORE MAKING ANY PAYMENT.”
