FEDPOLEL Rector Ebeloku charges fresh students to uphold standards

The Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji, Ondo State, FEDPOLEL, Dr. Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku, has charged the institution’s fresh students to uphold high standards of conduct, professionalism, discipline, and integrity.

Besides, he asked them to serve as worthy ambassadors of the Institution during their industrial attachment

He spoke at a one-day orientation programme for the newly admitted National Diploma (ND I) students on both Full-Time and Part-Time programmes.

It was organised by the Directorate of Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES),

The orientation programme, held on Wednesday, 3rd June, 2026, at the 1,500-Capacity Multipurpose Auditorium, had in attendance 802 ND I students drawn from fifteen academic departments across the Polytechnic.

Ebeloku congratulated the students on attaining this important stage in their academic pursuit. He noted that the SIWES programme serves as a critical platform for bridging theoretical knowledge with practical industry experience.

He further explained that the scheme provides students with valuable opportunities to acquire practical skills, build professional networks, and gain a deeper understanding of workplace operations and industry standards.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Director of SIWES, Dr. Olufemi Dadepo Adesina, expressed appreciation to the Management of the Institution for its continuous support towards the effective implementation of SIWES activities, which he noted has contributed significantly to the success of the programme.

He also underscored the significance of the orientation exercise, describing it as a foundational requirement for effective participation in industrial training. According to him, the programme is designed to acquaint students with the objectives, ethics, expectations, and responsibilities associated with SIWES.

Dadepo stated that the orientation is intended to equip students with relevant industrial exposure, practical competencies, professional discipline, and workplace ethics required for future career development.

He charged the students to demonstrate diligence, punctuality, respect for constituted authority, commitment to learning, and exemplary conduct throughout the period of their attachment.

Also, the Acting Manager of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Akure Area Office, Mrs. Grace Ajagbe, commended the Management of the Institution for providing an enabling environment for academic and professional excellence.

She also encouraged the students to adhere strictly to SIWES guidelines and procedures in order to ensure a smooth and successful industrial training experience.

Dignitaries present at the orientation programme included the Deputy Rector, Dr. Samson Adehuga Omogbehin; the Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Adeyemi Awe; the Bursar, Mr. Sehinde Ebenezer Olabode; and the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Fasa Rachael Aladeniyi. Also in attendance were ITF Officials, Deans, Directors, and Heads of Departments/Units of the Institution.
