The Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji, Ondo State, FEDPOLEL, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), have opened discussions on possible areas of collaboration.
These started on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the Ondo State chapter of the institute to the polytechnic’s Management.
A statement by the polytechnic’s media unit, said FEDPOLEL agreed to appoint a Liaison Officer to coordinate further discussions with the Institute on the proposed partnership, while the institute also pledged to appoint a representative to facilitate continuous engagement.
The delegation, led by the Branch Chairman, Mrs. Pamela Elekwachi, comprised Mrs. Oladipo Bosede (Treasurer), Barr. Natasha Abayomi (Ex-Officio I), and Mr. Akintan Akindele (Ex-Officio II).
According to the statement, “In his welcome address, the Rector, Dr. Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku, expressed delight at receiving the delegation as a full-fledged member of CIPM.
“He noted that the Institute is not only a regulatory and professional body for Human Resource Management practice in Nigeria, but also a strategic partner in nation-building, committed to upholding professional standards, ethics, and continuous professional development.
“He stated: “Your dedication to upholding standards, ethics, and continuous professional development mirrors the values we instill in our students. Your visit today confirms that the work we do in training HR personnel here is recognised and valued at the highest professional level.”
“The Rector assured the delegation that the Polytechnic remains open to productive discussions aimed at strengthening its relationship with the Institute through programme accreditation, student membership, staff induction into the Institute, and collaborative training initiatives.
“In her remarks, Mrs. Elekwachi conveyed the warm greetings of the Institute to the Rector and members of the Management team, appreciating them for the warm reception accorded the delegation.
“She explained that CIPM is willing to collaborate with the Polytechnic in mutually beneficial areas, including training programmes, seminars, conferences, and membership registration for both staff and students.
“She further noted that career clinics could be organised for students to enhance their employability and competitiveness in the labour market.
“At the end of the interactive session, the Polytechnic Management agreed to appoint a Liaison Officer to coordinate further discussions with the Institute on the proposed partnership. Similarly, Mrs. Elekwachi pledged to appoint a representative from the Institute to facilitate continuous engagement.
“She also used the opportunity to invite members of the Management team to the CIPM Conference scheduled to hold in Akure, Ondo State, from Tuesday, 12th to Wednesday, 13th August, 2026.
“The visit featured the exchange of souvenirs and concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Sanmi Enigbokan, Deputy Registrar, Division of Information, Protocol and Passages.
“The courtesy visit was attended by the Deputy Rector, Dr. Samson Adehuga Omogbehin; the Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Adeyemi Awe; the Bursar, Mr. Sehinde Ebenezer Olabode; and the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. (Mrs.) Fasa Rachael Aladeniyi. Others present included the Acting Head of the Department of Business Administration and Management, Mrs. Kudirat Folorunso; the Senior Assistant Registrar, Rectory, Mr. Festus Ogunruku; and the Assistant Registrar, Division of Information, Protocol and Passages, Mr. Akindele Oyebanji.”
