Face your path more vigorously

Returning now and then to the old that you have discarded, that mercifully you have been torn from;

Is like picking up, and wearing the old cloak you had pulled off, the slough you had pulled out of, again and again.

It is like scooping up your vomit and drinking it again. And thus drawing, pulling yourself backward and downward into the old again.

Thereby retarding your forward and upward movement, weighing yourself down with unnecessary burden.

Forming and erecting new obstacles, new barricades on your path, forcing yourself to repeat over and over again the former mistakes that had dragged you to, and kept you in the old environment.

In the classes that you had gone over; and thereby forcing about new ties and karma.

Thus making the redemption of your old errors, and ascent more difficult or even impossible.

While at the same time, the old friends you choose to please and help keep increasing their distance from the real help, from salvation, the new path you choose to follow, your point of separation, and which still is.

They have had enough time to reflect and come to a better appreciation of what you hold dear.

Rather, they are still as closed to real help as ever.

Leave them alone. Turn away from them and face your path alone with greater verve and vigour.
