Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has been appointed as Deputy Chairman of the African Domocratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections.
He will serve with a former Borno State governorship candidate Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, who will chair the council as approved by the party’s presidential candidate and former Vive President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The Director-General and Campaign Manager of the council is Senator Augustine Okwudiri Akobundu
El-Rufai will oversee high-level political coordination and engage key stakeholders nationwide
His appointment comes amid an ongoing investigation by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
El-Rufai is also involved in separate legal proceedings, including a case filed by the Department of State Services concerning allegations linked to the interception of communications involving the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
