Build on the rock – 2

Reflection for the day

By Olubunmi Adebayo

*Today, we shall conclude on yesterday’s Reflection on building either on the rock or on sand foundations.*

*If you may ask, why is the foundation built on sandy soil unreliable and undependable?*

*This is because :*

*In the journey of life, rain certainly will fall.*
*Storms will come.*
*Erosion will take place.*
*And Flooding will be there to carry things on its way away.*

*Always remember this :*

*Isaiah 43: [2]When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.*

*What the Word of God says in the verse above is :”when thou passest through the water”, and not “if thou”.*

*What will therefore happen to the house built on the sandy foundation?*

*It will collapse in no time of course.*
*And great will be the fall of the house.*

*If I may ask this question, “on which type of soil are you laying the foundation of whatever you are building? And what type of structure are you building on the foundation?”*

*Please note this : the journey of life is a long and tough one, and a man can only be wise if he chooses to build his house upon the rock.*

*The wind will not just beat against it, it will try to blow it off completely.*
*The rain will descend heavily on it.*
*The flood will come massively against it.*

*But the house shall stand, and stand the test of time, because it was founded upon the rock.*

*Take time to look at the life of a man who is making progress in spite of the challenges and hazards he may be facing : it is most likely that he is building upon a foundation on the rock, and not on the sand.*

*A man who will not take the pains of working hard today, is only sure to be building on the sand, and he will face the music tomorrow. Such a fellow can’t run away from that fact.*

Top of the day to you
