Be careful what you say

Reflection for the day

By Olubunmi Adebayo

*A lot of people are fond of saying what they don’t really mean at the moment of emotional tension or pressure.*
*Never join such people in acting like this please.*

*This type of behaviour shows you as lacking in self-control, carefulness, and lack of discretion on the part of the person.*

*A man who is overwhelmed by things around him, and ends up saying anything with his mouth is a dangerous fellow that should be avoided.*

*In this life, one needs to be very careful of what one says when he or she is sad, excited, angry or disappointed.*

*This is because, whatever you say may likely have very serious consequences that a person may not have control over. Simply put, there is power in your words.*

*Several people have so acted and thrown away golden opportunities, or raised needless opposition against themselves or their interests.*

*Some have by so doing :*

*1) Sent their life helpers away.*

*2) Some have ended up cursing their own children or other beloved ones with their mouths.*

*3) Some have ruined long standing relationships.*

*4) Some have destroyed long time friendships.*

*5) Some have put in jeopardy a lot of things that are beyond their individual person.*

*Please ensure that you are not a victim of such a recklessly spoken word. Think deeply before you speak.*

*No wonder the Word of God says ;*

*Proverbs 25:[11] A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.*

*Several people you classify as your friends only need to hear some odd words from your mouth, and they will turn against you headlong!*

*Always remember the words of the elders as they used to admonish us : “a word is enough for the…..*”

Top of the day to you 👍
