*Please permit me to ask you the question of today’s topic of our Daily Reflection : “ARE YOU TEACHABLE?” Or shall I put the question this way : “HOW TEACHABLE ARE YOU?”*
*The question becomes crucial in view of the content of today’s COPIED post. Please read on :*
*”## The First Time I Heard My Future Husband Preach… I didn’t write down his message. I wrote down his mistakes.”*
*One of the things that drew me to my husband wasn’t that he was perfect.*
*It was that he was teachable.*
*I still remember the first year we were dating.*
*He invited me to a conference in his city where he was one of the speakers.*
*As he preached, the congregation was captivated.*
*People were clapping.*
*Shouting.*
*Celebrating every revelation.*
*Everyone was impressed.*
*Meanwhile…*
*I was busy writing.*
*My husband thought I was taking notes from his powerful message.*
*He imagined I was writing down every revelation he was sharing.*
*But that wasn’t what I was writing.*
*I was writing down every grammatical error he made.*
*Every place where the grammar could have been better.*
*I noticed them all.*
*After the meeting, he asked me,*
*”So… how was the message?”*
*I smiled and said,*
*”You truly blessed me.”*
*”But…”*
*”There are a few things we need to work on.”*
*I pulled out my notes and gently showed him the corrections.*
*I even recommended an English Grammar book my father had given me years earlier.*
*Then I asked,*
*”Would you mind reading it? I think it will really help.”*
*Do you know what amazed me?*
*He wasn’t offended.*
*He wasn’t intimidated.*
*He didn’t become defensive.*
*Instead, he said,*
*”Please help me.”*
*From that day, he intentionally began improving.*
*Sometimes after preaching, he would call me and ask,*
*”Sweetheart, did you watch the service?”*
*”Am I getting better?”*
*”Did you notice any improvement?”*
*That humility made him grow.*
*Here’s the truth many people need to hear:*
*The reason many people stop growing isn’t because they lack potential. It was because they rejected correction.*
*People will clap for your gifts…*
*But they won’t always tell you your weaknesses.*
*Crowds celebrate your strengths.*
*Very few people have the courage to confront your flaws.*
*That’s why teachability is priceless.*
*The truth you’ve already accepted about yourself can never embarrass you.*
*When you acknowledge your weaknesses, correction no longer feels like an attack—it becomes an opportunity to grow.*
*Sadly, many marriages are slowly dying because spouses are afraid to tell each other the truth.*
*One partner wants to speak…*
*But keeps quiet.*
*”How will she/he react?”*
*”Will she/he get angry?”*
*”Will this start another argument?”*
*So silence replaces honesty.*
*And distance quietly replaces intimacy.*
*The same thing happens with singles.*
*Some people desperately pray for relationships…*
*Yet the people around them cannot confidently recommend them.*
*Not because they aren’t beautiful.*
*Not because they lack potential.*
*But because they don’t receive correction well.*
*Imagine a brother in church asking someone,*
*”What do you think about that sister?”*
*And the response is,*
*”She’s a good person… but she doesn’t accept correction.”*
*Or a choir member who gets corrected during rehearsal and immediately becomes defensive.*
*Instead of saying,*
*”Thank you. I’ll improve.”*
*They argue.*
*They complain.*
*They withdraw.*
*What they don’t realize is that people are watching.*
*Your character is speaking long before your words do.*
*A teachable spirit will open doors that talent alone never can.*
*The people who rise the highest are not always the most gifted.*
*They are often the most humble, and the most teachable.*
*So here’s a question for you :*
*When was the last time someone corrected you… and you genuinely said, “Thank you”?*
*Always remember, growth begins where pride ends ##.*
*Now, go ahead and answer the question today’s Reflection is demanding from you.*
Top of the day to you 👍
