Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has commended the member representing Ondo West Constituency 2 in the State Assembly, Hon Biola Oladapo for empowering over 200 people in Ondo Kingdom.
The lawmaker, on Wednesday, in Ondo City, empowered his constituents with herbicides and sprayers as well as grants to some women to start up new businesses or support existing ones.
Speaking to an exciting crowd of party faithful and residents at the empowerment program, the governor, who was represented by his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami, praised the state lawmaker for prioritizing the welfare of his people.
“I am particularly impressed that the lawmaker has chosen two critical areas of development initiatives, aimed at improving the lives of individuals and Ondo as a kingdom, with a special focus on social and economic advancement.
“In addition to his core legislative duties of making laws for the betterment of our people in Ondo state, your representative has gone the extra mile to actually bring smiles to your faces and I want to commend him for this” he said.
The governor urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the empowerment items and continue to give their support to the lawmaker to enable him do more for the people.
Earlier in his address, the lawmaker, Hon Biola Oladapo, highlighted his achievements since assuming office two years ago. These included Scholarship to 350 students to study at Kwara State College of Education, distribution of solar lights and installation of a 375kw transformer at Igbado.
Others are sinking of boreholes at Omilosun Camp in Ward 5 and Dagio Village, Oke Ogun in Ward 4 and construction of Odowo’s bridge in Ward 4.
Hon. Oladapo promised to remain dedicated to the development of Ondo kingdom and its people by sponsoring impactful bills and facilitating developmental projects to underserved communities.
The event attracted top government officials, APC bigwigs and community leaders, including Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, Majority Leader, Hon. Olatunji Oshati, Ondo State Commissioner, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu and Chairman of Ondo West LGA, Hon. Ayotunde Akinfolarin, among others.
