Adeleke pledges more people-oriented projects

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has told residents of the State to expect more dividends of democracy in the area of infrastructural development which will bring succor to all and sundry.

He made the pledge during the commissioning of four Solar Hybrid Mini-grids in Osu, Ara-Joshua, Alutierin and Olomu Oja Communities in Ife South Local Government Area.

Represented by the Commissioner for Energy, Hon. Festus Adeyemo, Adeleke said the project was conceived under the Nigerian Electrification Project (NEP) of the World Bank Rural Electrification Agency ( REA) and executed by Concerto and CESEL JV.

Explaining that the project can supply electricity to over 1,200 households, he stressed further that his government is committed to the wellbeing of all and sundry .

Adeleke who assured residents of the area of good roads to enable them leverage on the availability of electricity for economic growth, explained that the project aligns with the State Strategic Vision of ensuring reliable electricity supply.

In his remarks, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II appreciated the World Bank and CESEL-Concerto for the project, while appealing for similar support to be extended to all the nooks and crannies of the State.

In an address, the CEO of CESEL, Dr. Patrick Tolani emphasized that the project’s objective goes beyond just providing electricity for domestic uses, but also targeted at improving the economic lives of the people.

Also speaking, the Chairman of CESEL- Concerto JV, Aradel Renewable Limited , Mr Lanre Daramola explained that the project demonstrates a commitment to provide sustainable and clean energy solutions to support economic growth and a brighter future to all.

The community heads expressed their joy and appreciation to all stakeholders for helping to light their community.
