The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has debunked the widespread rumours that Governor Ademola Adeleke has defected to it.
It described the report as a deliberate falsehood manufactured by the governor’s aides and political loyalists to gain undue relevance.
The party punctured the rumoured defection in a statement on Sunday by its Director of Media and Information, Mr. Kola Olabisi.
It said the defection rumour was “a lie from the pit of hell,” urging its members, supporters, and the general public to disregard the claims being allegedly promoted by the Adeleke-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration.
APC said,“We want to state categorically and unequivocally that the story being peddled by the governor and his associates about his defection to the APC is completely untrue.
“Nothing of such has happened, nor is it being contemplated at any level of our party”.
The statement said that at no time did President Bola Tinubu or any APC leader exert pressure on Governor Adeleke to join the party,
