On Tuesday, Osogbo, the Osun State capital, witnessed heavily armed conventional and mobile policemen deployed by the Police Inspector General, Kayode Egbetokun.
They arrived in the state in a truck and moved to the command headquarters for possible posting to strategic locations across the state.
Reportedly, they took instructions from the Commissioner of Police in the state, who directed the officer in charge of postings to move them to man the local government secretariats and vulnerable places to forestall any possible breakdown of Law and order.
Patrol vehicles were placed in strategic locations while armed officers kept their eagle eyes on the movement of the people.
All entrance and exit points are being man by policemen to ensure that hoodlums from other states do not enter the state to cause further chaos.
