The new courses include: HND in Health Information Management; ND in Medical Imaging and X-ray Technology; HND in Dental Therapy; ND in Dental Surgery Technology; ND in Dispensing Opticianry; and ND in Epidemiology and Disease Control.

The reaccredited course is ND in Environmental Health Technology.

After inspecting the available facilities, the NBTE team leader, Mr. Sama’Ila Tanko, expressed delight at the institution’s state of infrastructure and readiness for work.

Noting that the school management had demonstrated its preparedness to commence the new courses for the benefit of society, he stressed that the accreditation exercise was not a witch-hunt.

He said that the rigorous inspection process was to ensure that tertiary institutions adhere to established standards before receiving approval.

According to him: *”While inspecting facilities in the various departments, I observed significant improvement. The school appears well-prepared to begin offering the new courses.

“If we want our educational system and Nigeria at large to progress and secure the future, we must ensure proper evaluation before granting approvals for courses in our tertiary institutions. This is the essence of the NBTE’s accreditation visit.”*

Speaking, the institution’s Provost, Dr. Lateef Olarewaju Raheem, said he was committed to its continuous improvement to keep producing graduates who can compete with their peers globally.

He praised Governor Ademola Adeleke for his administration’s support and efforts to position the institution as a leader in health technology education.
