Jubilant people of Arogbo Ijaw in Ese Odo Local Government of Ondo State on Thursday gave their prominent son the special adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan on Niger Delta Affairs and the chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr. Kingsley Kuku, a heroic welcome.
Kuku, a political and environmental rights activist, paid a surprise visit which coincided with the 2023 Arogbo Day celebration, to his birth place of Arogbo-Ijaw after eight years sojourn abroad.
Upon his arrival at the community, he went to the First Baptist Church to give thanks to the Almighty for making it possible for him to reunite with his people after eight years sojourn abroad.
It would be recalled that Kuku facilitated the building of the church eight years ago.
His arrival at the venue of Arogbo Day celebration immediately got the atmosphere of the event electrified. The former Amnesty chairman practically stole show at the event as the youths kept chanting his praises until he had to plead with them to allow continuation of the event.
His physical presence of Kuku at the Arogbo Day celebration came as a pleasant surprise because no prior notice of his visit was given.
Besides, his presence added glamour to the event as the people were very pleased to see and welcome their outstanding benefactor to the Kingdom once again.
