Osun Primary Health Care flags off workshop for LG officials

The Board Chairman, Osun State Primary Health Care Development Board, Hon Tajudeen Adisa, has flagged off a two-day training workshop for selected health officials across 30 local governments and area offices in the State.

Speaking at the programme, Adisa urged health workers in the State not to relent in their duties, stating that Governor Ademola Adeleke is passionate about delivering quality healthcare services to all.

He disclosed that the vaccination against Poliovirus that causes poliomyelitis will commence on September 30 and end on October 3 in the State.

He hinted that the vaccination is packaged for the children within the 0 and 59 months age bracket, as he urged the general public, particularly nursing mothers and caregivers, to make sure their children within the bracket are vaccinated during the exercise.

He said: “As we all know that Nigeria has not detected any case of the wild polio virus anywhere since August 2016, this critical milestone in the polio eradication programme is achieved as a result of your support and commitment of all our supporting partners (NPHCDA, UNICEF,WHO) and our committed and ever reliable health workers that we have in the State”.

In his welcome address, the Executive Secretary, Osun State Primary Health Care Development Board, Dr. Oluwole Fabiyi appreciated all health workers in the State and implored them to be more committed to their duties so that Osun State can maintain its zero Wild Polio Virus status.

While appreciating the World Health Organisation (WHO ), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) and other partners for the support, abiyi assured that the State Government would not relent in providing health security for its citizens.
