Otunba Adeboye Mukaila Oladejo has bowed out of office as Chairman, Ayedire Local Government in Osun State, with an appeal to politicians in the area to shun playing divisive politics “as this would do us more harm than good.”

He expressed appreciation to the royal fathers and other eminent leaders in the council area for their contributions towards his achievements in office.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola had on Thursday ordered all council chairmen and other political office holders at local government councils in the state to vacate their offices at the expiration of their tenure.

In a statement titled ‘The end justifies the means… a sincere appreciation as I bow from office as Chairman, Ayedire Local Government, Ileogbo,” he said: “I, Otunba Adeboye Mukaila Oladejo sincerely show my profound gratitude to the most High who by His mercy kept us through from inception of our Administration to the end.

“I specifically appreciate our indefatigable Kabiesi, HRM, the Olowu of Owu Kuta, Oba Hammed Adekunle Oyelude, Tegbosun 111 for his unalloyed support for me before I assumed office and while my tenure lasted coupled with the unprecedented developmental projects he has been bringing to our Community during my tenure using his network of connections.

“The unquantifiable love, understanding and support shown by HRM Olu of Ileogbo, Oba Habeeb Adetoyese and HRM, Onikoyi of Ikoyi land, Oba Afiz Adigun Badeji is much appreciated.

“I appreciate all the APC leaders in Ayedire with special thanks to Professor Pade Aderibigbe and Professor Olaide Philip Okunola whose intellectual and fatherly contributions in the course of our Administration cannot be over emphasized.

“I appreciate all our religious fathers for their incessant prayers while our tenure lasted as well as all the APC family for their unflinching supports for our Administration despite the unfavourable economic situation at the Local Government that culminated into staggering dividends of democracy.

“The ever dynamic youths of Ayedire Local Government are highly appreciated for their constructive criticism.

“My gratitude also goes to all the community leaders in all the constituent communities in Ayedire Local Government for their periodical visitations/advice.

“My appreciation is not complete without mentioning the parliaments that served with me as well as all the staff members of Ayedire Local Government for their cooperation and support.

“I equally appreciate our political leaders across Ayiwola Federal Constituency under the able leadership of Barrister Gbadegesin Adedeji, the Asiwaju of Iwo land as well as Prof. Aderemi Abubakre for their fatherly roles.

“I have no doubt in my mind that I must have stepped on many toes in the course of discharging my duty as the Chairman of Ayedire Local Government and it is consequent upon this I wish to tender my unreserved apology to all that I must have offended in one way or the other, believing that to err is human while to forgive is divine.

“In the same vein, I want to enjoin our political gladiators in Ayedire to endeavour to shun playing divisive politics as this would do us more harm than good.

The Holy book says ‘To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven’. There came a time we assumed office and now it is time to bow out of office.

“My good people of Ayedire Local Government, THANKS A MILLION TIMES OVER.

“I appreciate the State Party Chairman Prince Gboyega Famodun for counting me worthy as Chairman of the Local Government. I appreciate all the political appointees especially Commissioner for LG, Prince Adeleke and the SA, Evangelist Rasak Adeosun. They were so friendly and wonderful.

“NOW 2022 AGENDA IS IN MY MIND, THAT IS GOVERNOR GBOYEGA OYETOLA’ SECOND TERM WHICH IS NOT NEGOTIABLE. I PLEDGE TO WORK ACROSS IWO FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY WITH MY COLLEAGUES.4+4 = 8, THE JOURNEY HAS STARTED AND IT SHALL BE COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY.”

A statement on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government, Wole Oyebamiji, had said: “The Executive Governor of the State of Osun, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has directed all political office holders at the Local Government Councils to vacate their respective offices and hand over the Administration of their concerned Councils to the most Senior Local Government Personnel,”

Oyetola said the affected political office holders were asked to leave due to the expiration their tenure in office.

He said the directive is in pursuant to the expiration of the tenure of all political office holders in all the Local Governments, Area Development Councils and Administrative offices in Osun State.

“Governor Oyetola appreciates their individual contributions to the development of the state and wishes them well in their future engagements,” Oyebamiji said.
