The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win re-election in 2027, declaring that the ruling party is prepared to secure another presidential mandate.

Yilwatda spoke on Saturday at the flag-off of the APC presidential campaign in Kaduna State, where he described the turnout as a sign of support for Tinubu’s leadership and economic reform agenda.

He said the President had demonstrated the courage to take difficult decisions to address Nigeria’s longstanding challenges, adding that the party would campaign on the administration’s record and its plans for national development.

“Mr President, the people have spoken, and their voice is loud and clear. Nigerians are happy. Our women are happy, our youths are happy, and the people are encouraged by your leadership,” the APC chairman said.

Yilwatda urged Nigerians to look beyond the current economic difficulties and consider what he described as the long-term benefits of the administration’s reforms. He argued that Tinubu deserved another term to consolidate the policies and projects initiated by his government.

“The task before us is to consolidate the gains, deepen the reforms and ensure that the promise of Renewed Hope translates into greater opportunities, improved livelihoods and shared prosperity for our people,” he said.

The APC chairman also presented party flags to governors from the North-West, signalling the party’s readiness to mobilise support across the region ahead of the 2027 elections. The governors named were Uba Sani of Kaduna, Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano, Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina, Umar Namadi of Jigawa, Nasir Idris of Kebbi, Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto and Dauda Lawal of Zamfara.

He urged the governors, party officials and other stakeholders to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, maintain unity and communicate the administration’s policies and achievements to voters.

Yilwatda described the North-West as crucial to the APC’s electoral prospects, saying victory would depend on sustained engagement with communities and cooperation among party leaders. He also commended the Kaduna State Government and party organisers for their roles in hosting the campaign launch.

“The journey to 2027 has begun, and the APC is ready. We have a President with the courage to lead, a party with the capacity to mobilise and a vision centred on the prosperity of our people,” he said.
