Oyo NUJ FRCN Financial Secretary Dies

The Financial Secretary of the FRCN chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), in Oyo State, Mr. Olalekan Quadri Olayiwola has passed on.

Expressing deep shock and sadness over the incident, the stace council of the union described the deceased as a creative and versatile journalist who distinguished himself through his dedication, professionalism and commitment to the journalism profession.

The union, in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman Mr Akeem Abas, and the Secretary Temidayo Adu, noted that during his years with Radio Nigeria, Olayiwola showcased his talents across different aspects of broadcasting, including reporting, translation and Yoruba news presentation, contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of the station.

According to the Council, his versatility, passion for journalism and ability to deploy his skills effectively in both reporting and broadcasting endeared him to colleagues and audiences alike. His sudden departure is a painful loss to the FRCN Chapel, Radio Nigeria and the wider journalism community in Oyo State.

Also, the union commiserated with the family of the deceased, members of the FRCN Chapel and the entire media community over the painful loss. It prayed God to grant his family, colleagues and friends the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The Council urged the family and colleagues of the deceased to take solace in the worthy professional contributions and memories he left behind, while praying to God to grant his soul eternal rest and comfort all those mourning his passing.
