There is much to say about the blessings in reincarnation. As I did state last week, it is a special grace borne out of the love, mercy and justice of the Most High, the Creator of all the worlds that possibility of reincarnation is worked into His mechanisms with which He governs the entire Creation and all life. It is such that even in difficulties and obstacles we can see gains, greatly helped if we have the right knowledge. They could invite us into introspection. From deep reflection, questioning and self-examination ensue. Who am I and what is the purpose of this life after all? We then find that the afflictions are brought upon us by no one but ourselves. The causes may date back centuries gone past. “Nothing is dead, nothing is void as it would appear!” We read in the unique and matchless Work, The Grail Message, by Abd-ru-shin: “Everything is working and weaving in reciprocal action, in the centre of which you stand as men continually forming and directing the threads being both starting point and final goal. Mighty rulers are you! Each one of you is establishing his own kingdom in such a way that it will either uplift you or bury you beneath its ruins.” He adds: “Through your wishes, your thinking and your volition you are able to poison this world and the Beyond, or you may purify and uplift them towards the Light.” Earthmen have chosen the former, that is chosen to poison Creation. And that is the self-inflicted burden.
Reincarnation helps us to awaken to recognise from where we are coming, where we have fallen short– our errors, and to atone and redeem them, the baggage of filth that would have remained clung to the soul were there to be no opportunity of reincarnation. For, the baggage that is material will have to be settled in the material world that the earth is, and what is ethereal in nature has its settlement reserved for the ethereal. And so, we come to realise that in our afflictions, justice is served borne out of love and it is then shown that even in justice lies love.
Reincarnation is, therefore, to facilitate the furtherance of our development so we can drop all weaknesses and shortcomings leading to errors which entrap us in misery, sorrow and distress. Reincarnation helps to get our inner being matured by mastering the Will of God and living It. Heeding the Will leads to polish of the inner being and attainment of a high degree of perfection to be able to pass the final examination, the stepping stone to graduating from the school of life that our world is. As we strike the peak of perfection, we head home in the Light Region more commonly referred to as Paradise.
The possibility of committing more and fresh atrocities, however, can and does arise during a reincarnation thus adding more burden to what already exists the severance of which is the purpose for coming back in the first place. The Bringer of the Grail Message, “In the Light of Truth”, Abd-ru-shin, states:
“But, sulking like the most stubborn children, men close themselves to the recognition of the All-Wise Love, thereby harming themselves to such an extent that frequently they can never again ascend, and become lost like a useless grain of seed in this Creation.
“The smallest of all the evils which they thereby inflict upon themselves during their wanderings are multifarious incarnations on earth that result from reciprocal action. These incarnations take up centuries, perhaps thousands of years, ever again delaying the possibility of the spirit’s ascent, permitting new sufferings to arise, and resulting in continual chains of unnecessary entanglements, which must all be redeemed without fail down to the last and finest speck of dust, before the spirit can rise from the confusion brought about through stubbornness.
“Were the Light as human nature is It would drop Creation out of weariness, for truly an unbelievable patience is needed to allow such disgusting, stupid stubbornness to live out so that those of good volition still emerging from such a state will not lose their possibility of salvation, and need not perish in the whirlpool of destruction created by those who no longer wish to change themselves.
“But even among those of good volition only a small part will attain to real salvation, for many weaken too soon and lose heart, and also sometimes think they have taken wrong courses, because so much opposes them and causes vexation, worry and suffering from the moment the good volition sets in; whereas formerly they did not notice it so much.
“Along with the resolution for ascent contained in the firm volition for what is good, there first comes a time of refining for many persons which lets them experience their past wrong ways of thinking or acting, and transforms them for what is right! The more conspicuous this becomes the more such a person is endowed with grace, and the stronger the help already extended from the Light.”
We are further told: “Only when it wishes to uplift itself is the hindrance through Darkness bound to become perceptible and incisive to the upward striving spirit, until finally it tears itself forcibly away in order to become free of the ties retaining it. The very word already indicates that this tearing away cannot always take place without pains.”
With the pressure of the Light in this Age of the Holy Spirit Who is the Justice Arm of the All-Highest, the Creator and Who has enacted the Judgment in the Name of His Father, and with the combined Radiation Power of His Star, the Great Comet driving everything to an awakening, all that slumbers or is dead and, indeed, at this time getting close to the boiling point, there is fierce struggle and push in the Beyond for reincarnation to tear away from the self-inflicted entrapment. In the Words of Abd-ru-shin, “But no time is left for a quiet severance. For this earth has already sunk far too deeply and the World Judgment is in full swing in its final fulfilment.”
And we are unequivocally told: “In reality only the spirit comes into reckoning with a human being. All the other designations depend purely on the cloaks he wears. The spirit is everything, it is the essence, thus the human being.”
As reincarnation proves that life is a continuum, and it is the same spirit re-embodied, it is, therefore, possible for a person to carry over certain abilities and skills from one earth life or earth lives to another. Prodigies are such people who carry over exceptional abilities and talents in certain areas from their previous earth lives. The dexterity they manifest in the unfolding of the abilities confounds the world. These abilities break out early mostly when they are children and they are thus called prodigies. They are abilities carried in their spirits, not in the brains which are perishable and which go back to dust. “Dust thou art and to dust you shall return,” it is said. Upon reincarnation, however, new brains are fashioned to be used as vehicles to ventilate what flows from within them, from their spirits.
Reincarnation can be at any place and in any country. It is where the right soil to facilitate opportunities for attainment of goals and life’s purposes ultimately at a particular time that a soul is attracted to in accordance with the Law of Homogeneity. A Nigerian of today may have been a German general in a previous earth life, say during the Second World War. And as I was saying last week, come to think of it, and I have said so before, will Wole Soyinka (our own WS) when he goes and returns not begin to write and stage plays from the age of three? Or Achebe publishing his first and best-selling novel at the age of five, one that will beat Things Fall Apart? Or John Pepper Clark (JP) writing another poem on “Ibadan, a city set on seven hills” from the age of seven? There are other literary giants—Cyprian Ekwensi: Vincent Ike; J.F. Odunjo; D. O. Fagunwa; Amos Tutuola and Femi Osofisan to mention but a few. I made reference to Chike Obi and Ayodele Awojobi last week. The abilities they have cultivated awakened from their spirit will not be lost. In the area of arts and music can anyone forget Herbert Ogunde; Fela Anikulapo-Kuti; Kola Ogunmola; Oyin Adejobi; Ayo Bankole and Dan Marayala of Abraham and Ibrahim fame, or Rex Lawson from the Garden City of old, Port Harcourt? In the area of Art, of course Onabrakpeya! Josy Ajiboye, step forward and take a bow! Will Ojetunji Aboyade not surprise us with a compelling book on economic development at the age of nine or Bill Dudley on radical political evolution, that majority cannot decide right, for example, at the age of eight?
I had asked before: Who taught Adeola Odutola, the Ogbeni Oja of Ijebu, business principles and corporate governance? The same can be asked of Michael Ibru, the Olorogun; Jimoh Odutola; Odumegwu Ojukwu Snr.; Nathaniel Idowu, the Okanlomo of Ibadan; Lawrence Omole and Dantata, Aliko Dangote’s uncle? Mention must be made of our young financial tigers who form the next generation after the aforementioned geniuses. Yes, they may have gone to business schools, it was only to polish and further sharpen the acumen they already carry within them. I am referring to Aliko Dangote; Michael Adenuga; Alex U. Ibru; Oba Otudeko; Jim Ovia; Tony Elumelu; Atedo Peterside; Femi Otedola; and Fola Adeola. If Gbolabo Ogunsanwo were to still be in the flesh he would have directed me to list resourceful and daring Nduka Obaigbena we call the Duke! Gbolabo said to me: “Nduka is a Jew; lock up a Jew with nothing on him, he would come out the following day with a bomber! In the words of Margaret Thatcher while sending British troops to Argentina; she said to them: “He who dares wins”.
Our economic tigers with undoubtedly considerable financial muscle can only build on their inherent abilities and skills through heeding unconditionally the Laws of Creation, particularly the Law of Balance between giving and receiving and the Law of Sowing and Reaping, also called the Law of Reciprocal Action. Any deviation from the Laws will lead to the dimming of the abilities and talents. Indeed, they may well be smothered and they disappear in the end. As Dr. Stephen Lampe is wont to say in his monumental work, Building Future Societies: “The future depends on the present. What we do now is the seed of a future harvest; and the future is the fruit of our present sowing… the future is in our hands; it is in what we think, say or do in the present, and in the values and motivations that determine our priorities and guide our lives.”
Evidence of reincarnation? I want to believe that Yetunde, Nnene, Nnena, Babawande, Babatunde, Iyabode, Iyatunde, and Olatunji, Olasoji, and Olusoji or Olutunde will not ask me that question. Didn’t the Lord Jesus give us food for thought when He said to the enquirers that Elijah had come but they recognised him not? Nevertheless, here is a classical example apart from the numerous ones to which in the culture and tradition, the Nigerian people attest eloquently. The report was published in the Internet and originally posted by Tara MacIsaac, Epoch Times, 17 May, 2014:
“A three-year-old boy in the Golan Heights region near the border of Syria and Israel said he was murdered with an axe in his previous life. OK, so what? Children claim to have memories of silly things all the time, and are known to play with their imaginary friends, right?
“He then proceeded to show the village elders where the murderer buried his body and sure enough, they found a man’s skeleton there. He also showed them where the murderer’s weapon could be found, and upon digging they found the axe. In his book. Children Who Have Lived Before: Reincarnation Today, German therapist Trutz Hardo tells this boy’s story, along with other stories of children who seem to remember their past lives with verified accuracy. The boy’s story was witnessed by Dr. Eli Lasch, who is best known for developing the medical system in Gaza as part of Israeli Government Operation in the 1960s. Dr. Lasch who died in 2009 had recounted these astounding events to Hardo.
“The boy was of the Druze ethnic group”, he said, “and in his culture the existence of reincarnation is accepted, his story nonetheless has the power to surprise his community. This is because his story contained pieces of information which he had no possible way of knowing which were verified to be true. When he was old enough to talk he told his family that he had been killed by a blow to the head with an axe. It is customary for elders to take a child at the age of three to the home of his previous life if he remembers it.
“After arriving at the village, the boy was able to remember all of the details of the village and the name of the person he was in previous life. A village local said the man the boy claimed to be the reincarnation had gone missing four years earlier. His friends and family thought he may have strayed into a hostile territory nearby as sometimes happens.
“Here is where it gets cool. The boy also remembered the full name of his killer, and confirmed the man who had killed him in his past life! The murderer’s face turned white, although he did not yet admit to the crime. The boy then said he could take the elders to where the body was buried. In that very spot they found a man’s skeleton with a wound to the head that corresponded to the boy’s birthmark. Nearby they also found the axe used as the murderer’s weapon. The murderer then admitted to the crime after being faced with evidence. Dr. Lasch was present through the whole process and testifies to the story.”
Dr. Stephen Lampe who is also the author of Christian and Reincarnation, says: “The education and skills we acquire now will determine our future accomplishment.”
It is these foundational preparation and accomplishments that are the stuff of which prodigies are made from previous lives to dazzle our world of today.
