*There is hardly anyone without a mountain or the other in his life, including you that is reading this piece of reflections.*
*The word “Mountain” is a metaphoric expression which means “a major challenge” in the life of an individual.*
*Know that there are different practical ways of handling the mountain in the life of a man :*
*You can decide to climb the mountain confronting you. You can decide to go round the mountain. You can bore a hole through the mountain and come out on the other side (if you have the means and wherewithal). You can blast the mountain. You can also decide to move the mountain entirely, just like the statement below :*
*Matthew 17: [20] And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.*
*The same statement was repackaged and repeated by Jesus Christ in :*
*Matthew 21: [21] Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.*
*Mountains are no doubt, big problems or great obstacles which feel too heavy, too big, too challenging, too permanent to handle. It could be debt, grief, illness, oppression, affliction, starting over, fear, failure.*
*The Red Sea before the people of Israel was a mountain. The Wall of Jericho before the same set of people was a mountain. The blindness in the life of blind Bartimeus, having been born with it, was a mountain.*
*The continuous bleeding in the life of the woman with the issue of blood was a mountain. The word of God says she ended up spending everything she had on the sickness, and instead of getting better, she was getting worse :*
*Mark 5: [25] And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years.*
*[26]And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse.*
*You will agree with me that the case of this woman was a troubling case of a mountain.*
*The question therefore is with what are we encouraged to move these mountains that may be in our lives?*
*Please pay attention to the following :*
*A) Faith :*
*Faith is the power of our belief system in God. In fact, faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.*
*Faith establishes a positive mindset towards God.*
*Every man needs faith to keep going when the issues of life don’t look like it again – this is the power of faith.*
*B) The place of Vision :*
*Every mountain mover must be able to see the mountain move before it actually shifts. People who move mountains hold a picture of the future that is different from the picture of the present situation they are facing.*
*C) Commitment and continuity :*
*To move mountains, you need small, but committed and consistent steps forward. Mountains don’t necessarily move in one day.*
*D) Discipline : to sustain the suggestion of item (C) above, you need a lot of discipline and self control, without which human efforts may amount to gross failure.*
*E) Resilience : mountains can be intimidating, therefore you need resilience after a bout of failure.*
*Mountains only step back in the face of resilience, which means getting up again and again.*
*F) Determination :*
*A man needs determination to take the first step, which is normally the heaviest step, and to keep coming again and again at it. Always remember, fear lurks in the heart of men. And fear makes mountains look bigger, while your step of determination shrinks them.*
*As the 72nd Annual Convention of the RCCG titled “MOUNTAIN MOVERS” kicks off today – Monday 3rd August, I encourage you to participate, either physically or virtually in the program. And you will come back to testify about that mountain in your life.*
Top of the day to you 👍
