“We are in support of the Government at various levels to speedily ensure the passage of State Police and ensure that it will not be used as a political weapon against the people and their opponents. The establishment of State Police shouldn’t be an avenue of revenue generation unconstitutionally thereby adding to the sorrows of the poor Citizens.
“The present role of the Police in the administration of Justice under Criminal Law should be looked into to ensure Justice for All poor and rich people.
“We give Kudos to the Federal Government for the establishment of Forest Rangers and the establishment of State Security Services before now. We hope the State Government will harmonize all Security Outfits in every State of Nigeria.
“That the State Police is established may still not solve all the problems of Nigerian’s if all the Governments could uphold the rule of Law, speak with one voice against the insurgents and stop pampering repentant Boko-Harams.
“All the Governments at all levels should join hands together to arrest their sponsors and block their sources of finance.
“We appeal to both the Federal and State Governments to stop politicizing the issues of insecurity in Nigeria and bring to book all arrested insurgents.
“Governments should put in place necessary machineries to curtail insecurity as well as intensify “Prevention is better than Cure” measures to put a final stop to the suffering of kidnapped Nigerians for months and years before rescue.
“There are still many kidnapped Nigerians in Boko-Haram’s dens that are waiting for the Governments for rescue in most States of the Federation.
“The Society of Nigerian Broadcasters urges the Media to intensify its effort by following up the issues of insecurity through investigative and PeaceĀ Journalism.
“Congratulations to all Nigerians on this great achievement by the Governments and all Security Agencies.”
