Tinubu, Atiku observe Eid prayers in Lagos, Abuja

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday joined Muslim faithful to observe Eid prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos.

The President was accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; the former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola; the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; the Deputy Governor and the Lagos APC governorship candidate, Obafemi Hamzat and other Muslim faithful.

Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, disclosed this in a post on his X handle on Wednesday.

He wrote, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside former Governor of Lagos State Babatunde Raji Fashola, the Lagos APC governorship candidate, and other Muslim faithful, observed the Eid Mubarak prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos State.”

Meanwhile, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar also joined Muslim faithful at the AYA Mosque in Abuja for the Eid prayers.

Atiku, in a post shared on his social media handle on Wednesday, said the prayers were offered in gratitude to Allah for His blessings.

“I joined fellow Muslims this morning at the AYA Mosque in Abuja to observe the Eid prayers in gratitude to Allah for His countless blessings,” he wrote.

The former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party called for unity, compassion and peace among Nigerians during the celebration.

“As we celebrate this sacred occasion, may the spirit of Eid strengthen our bonds of unity, compassion, sacrifice, and peace as one people and one nation,” Atiku stated.

He also extended Eid greetings to Muslims across Nigeria and around the world.

“Eid Mubarak to all Muslim faithful across Nigeria and around the world. May Allah accept our prayers and grant lasting peace and prosperity to our nation,” he added.
