Thousands of APC Members Defect to Adeleke’s Imole Movement in Ifelodun

Thousands of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State have reportedly defected to the Imole Movement of Governor Ademola Adeleke in Ifelodun Local Government Area, signaling a boost for the governor’s re-election bid.

The defection, which took place during a ceremony in Eko-Ende, Ifelodun, was described by organisers as a significant political shift ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Speaking at the event, Osun State ALGON Chairman said the new entrants were inspired by what he described as the “transformative leadership” of Governor Adeleke, noting that the defectors expressed dissatisfaction with the previous administration under Gboyega Oyetola.

According to him, the defectors were formally received into the fold and assured of equal rights and full participation in party activities.

“This is more than just a numbers game; it is about building a coalition of like-minded individuals committed to progress,” he said.

He expressed confidence that Ifelodun would deliver overwhelming support for the governor, projecting up to 80 percent of votes in favour of Adeleke’s “Imole 2.0” agenda.
