Ondo warns oil marketers against artificial scarcity

Ondo State

Ondo State Government has prohibited fuel scarcity in the state as it warned marketers against economic sabotage.

In a statement by Engr Johnson Jaiyeola Alabi, Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, the government warned:

“The Ondo State Government has observed with concern that some fuel marketers are attempting to sabotage the economic activities of the state by deliberately shutting down their filling stations despite having fuel in stock.

“The government wishes to state clearly that it is not opposed to fuel being sold at the prevailing market price.

“However, marketers must desist from creating artificial scarcity, which could trigger panic buying and disrupt economic activities across the state.

“Any filling station found culpable of this offence will be dealt with decisively in accordance with the law.”
