The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has extended warm greetings to the Muslims and Christians as they begin the sacred observances of Ramadan and Lent.
In a goodwill message, he described the period as a spiritually significant season that calls for deep reflection, renewed faith, and stronger commitment to the teachings of God. He noted that fasting provides an opportunity for believers to reassess their lives, draw closer to the Almighty, and strengthen bonds of unity within society.
He urged adherents of both faiths to embrace the divine blessings embedded in the holy month by intensifying acts of worship, charity, and compassion.
According to him, the season should inspire people to abstain from actions that contradict the values of their faith while promoting peace, love, and mutual understanding.
He emphasized the importance of fellowship between Muslims and Christians, stressing that the period is a reminder of the shared responsibility to build a more harmonious and stable society.
Oyebamiji encouraged believers to embody virtues such as patience, sacrifice, tolerance, and discipline as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad and Jesus Christ.
He added that beyond fasting and prayers, the season represents a time for sincere self-evaluation and commitment to righteous living.
The APC flag-bearer called on residents to use the period to strengthen their spiritual growth and extend kindness to those in need.
He prayed for divine wisdom, knowledge, and guidance for all faithful, expressing hope that they would witness many more holy seasons in peace, good health, and prosperity.
