Ondo State Police Command has recovered a lost female child within Odigbo town through its operatives at the Odigbo Divisional Police Headquarters.
Announcing this in a statement on Tuesday, the command’s spokesman, Abayomi Jimoh, a deputy superintendent, DSP,said:
“On 7th February, 2026, at about 2100hrs, one Adebayo, male, aged 44 years, of INEC Road, Orita, Odigbo, reported at the station with a female child of about seven (7) years old, whom he found roaming alone along the Orita area of Odigbo without any adult supervision.
“Upon interrogation, the child identified herself as Azeez Baliki and stated that she lives at Idi-ose, Ibadan, Oyo State and attends Glorious primary school, Ibadan.
“The child has since been placed in protective custody, while preliminary investigations are ongoing to trace her parents or lawful guardian and to establish the full circumstances surrounding her presence in the area.
“The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Police Command, CP Adebowale Lawal, Psc(+), mnips, reassures the public of the Command’s commitment to the protection of vulnerable persons especially children and urges anyone with useful information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the child’s parents or guardians to report to the nearest Police Station.
