Accord Party has confirmed the uploading of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke as its duly nominated candidate for the August 8, 2026 governorship election.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Osun State Chairman of the party, Pastor Victor Babalola Akande, said the development followed the completion of all necessary documentation and submission to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to the party, the confirmation by INEC puts to rest speculations and claims suggesting otherwise, stressing that the process was conducted in line with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines

“The successful uploading of Governor Ademola Adeleke as the Accord Party’s governorship candidate further affirms the legitimacy of our nomination and the confidence reposed in him by the people of Osun State,” the statement read.

The party expressed appreciation to its members and supporters across the state for their solidarity, urging them to remain focused and undistracted by what it described as “misleading propaganda” from political opponents.

Accord also called on eligible voters in the state to ensure they are properly registered and have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2026 governorship election, noting that active participation in the electoral process remains key to sustaining democracy.

Reaffirming its commitment to people-oriented governance, the party stated that Osun State would continue on the path of stability, development, and inclusive leadership under Governor Adeleke.

The governorship election in Osun State is scheduled to hold on August 8, 2026.
