The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun State has approved the rotation of voter registration devices across Registration Areas in all Local Government Areas of the state to enhance access to the ongoing Phase II Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
A statement by the public affairs officer Mr Musa Olurode disclosed that the approval was granted by its National Headquarters in Abuja, allowing the INEC Voter Enrollment Devices (IVED) to be moved within LGAs to reach more eligible citizens.
According to the him. the rotation exercise will commence on Monday, February 2, and run through Friday, April 10, 2026, covering a period of 50 days.
He explained that the decision was necessitated by challenges observed during the exercise, including long distances to Local Government Area offices, congestion at registration centres, and the need to ensure fairness and inclusivity in voter registration across communities.
Olurode hinted that the final week of the CVR exercise will be conducted strictly at the Local Government Area offices across Osun State.
“The Continuous Voter Registration exercise provides an opportunity for Nigerians who have attained the age of 18 and are yet to register to do so. It also allows registered voters to transfer their registration, correct errors on their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and replace lost or damaged PVCs.
“INEC Osun State, under the leadership of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, reassured residents of the state of its commitment to conducting a transparent, inclusive, and accessible voter registration process in line with its constitutional mandate.
He added that detailed schedules for the rotation of the enrollment devices across Registration Areas would be released through its official information channels.
Eligible residents are encouraged to take advantage of the exercise and cooperate fully with INEC officials to ensure a smooth and successful registration process.
