Oyebamiji congratulates Oluwo, Oba Akanbi, Iwo people over celebration

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji has felicitated the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Adewale Akanbi Telu 1 and his subjects home and in the diaspora on the occasion of the 34th Iwo Day 2025 celebrations.

In a statement he signed, he extolled the monarch for what he called his innovative resourcefulness, steadfastness, consistency and immense contributions to the growth, advancement and development of the ancient city since ascension of the throne of his forebears.

He acknowledged Oluwo’s unrepentant commitment to the preservation, propagation and promotion of Yoruba culture, tradition and heritage over the years.

Oyebamiji who acknowledged the impact of Iwo’s indigenes in their various chosen professions to national integration, growth and development, said it gladdens heart that the ancient town has produced numerous leaders of note who have impacted greatly in humanity.

He said, “It is yet another moment to celebrate cultural renaissance and socioeconomic development which our dear town, Iwo, has witnessed over the years.

“Iwo, as one of the oldest towns known for rich cultural heritage, traditions, customs and values has been growing from strength-to-strength and this wouldn’t have been made possible if not for the continued peace, unity and cohesion that define Iwo indigenes.

“As our father and his subjects celebrate this year’s Iwo Day, on behalf of my family, I wholeheartedly rejoice with our highly revered monarch, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu 1 on the occasion of this year’s festivity.”
