The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the conclusion of the first quarter of the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, with the phase officially ending on Wednesday, 10 December 2025.
In a statement issued by the Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, the Commission reminded Nigerians that the CVR exercise began with online pre-registration on 18 August 2025, followed by physical registration on 25 August 2025 across the country.
According to her, and in line with Section 19 of the Electoral Act 2022, INEC will commence the Display of the Register of Voters for Claims and Objections from 15 to 21 December 2025.
The display will hold at all Local Government Area offices where registration activities took place.
Eta-Messi urged citizens, particularly those who recently registered, transferred their registration, or updated their details, to examine the register for accuracy, report any errors, and draw attention to ineligible or deceased persons whose names may appear on the register.
She stressed that public scrutiny is essential to ensuring a credible and reliable voter database.
Providing an update on the progress of the exercise, the Commission revealed that at the end of the 13th week:
9,891,801 online pre-registrations were recorded;
2,572,054 registrations have been fully completed, comprising;
