Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has reaffirmed the positive impact of his administration across various sectors, insisting that residents of the state have been enjoying significant improvement in governance over the last three years.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the governor said his leadership has delivered transformational infrastructural development, revitalised the state’s economy, and prioritised the welfare of workers and pensioners.
According to the statement, the Adeleke administration has rekindled public confidence through major intervention in roads, schools, healthcare centres, and agriculture, describing the governor’s approach as “practical good governance with measurable impact.”
Rasheed dismissed recent criticisms from political opponents, describing them as “unrepentant opposition activists” who refuse to acknowledge the progress being recorded in the state.
He urged residents to disregard what he called “empty rhetoric” from leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), whom he accused of neglecting the people when they previously held power.
“In Osun State today, it is beyond argument that Governor Adeleke has delivered for the people. Wherever you look, the effect of good governance is obvious, and Osun people are acknowledging the remarkable progress recorded under his leadership,” Rasheed said.
He added that unlike the previous APC administration, the current Peoples Democratic Party, PDP government has paid off accumulated wage debts, facilitated career progression for civil servants, and introduced unprecedented health insurance and bond settlements for pensioners.
On infrastructure, Rasheed stated that the ongoing construction of roads, bridges, and the rehabilitation of public schools has ensured even development across the state.
He also highlighted recent investments in agriculture, including the acquisition of 31 new tractors with implements, a feat he said the APC government failed to achieve in its 12 years in power.
Rasheed also took a swipe at APC chieftain Mr. Sunday Akere, describing his recent commentary on governance as “defective and error-laced,” arguing that his political history undermines his credibility.
“I doubt any reasonable mind will take his assessment seriously. Mr. Akere was part of the failures Osun people rejected,” he said.
The governor’s spokesperson further dismissed the latest report by The Osun Masterminds (TOM), describing the civil society group as “APC-funded” and accusing its leaders of engaging in propaganda because of personal political ambitions.
Referencing the group’s coordinator, Prof. Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, Rasheed alleged that the academic’s recent criticisms were driven by his desire for federal appointment after his unsuccessful bid to join the South West Development Commission.
“Governance continues non-stop in Osun. The only people fixated on 2026 politics are TOM patrons disguising as civic actors. Governor Adeleke remains focused on serving the people, not on political games,” he said.
Rasheed urged residents to remain vigilant and not be swayed by what he termed misleading narratives aimed at reversing the progress made under the Adeleke administration.
