The All Progressives Congress, the ruling party in Ondo State, has debunked the allegations levelled by an Abuja-based group against Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
It did this in a statement by Mr Steve Otaloro, its state Director of Media & Publicity, and titled “Ondo APC Dismisses Baseless Allegations by Abuja-Based Group, Reaffirms Commitment to Good Governance”.
According to the statement, “The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State deems it necessary to address the recent press conference staged by the so-called Ondo Redemption Front a shadowy group that, rather curiously, chose Abuja over Ondo State to air its grievances, a telling move that exposes their disconnect from the realities on the ground and their lack of grassroots legitimacy.
“We categorically reject the unsubstantiated claims peddled by this faceless body. Their allegations are nothing more than a desperate attempt to cast aspersions on the image of a duly elected and widely accepted government. These claims are not only factually hollow but are also bereft of any constructive value.
“Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration remains resolute in delivering on its electoral mandate with commendable prudence and foresight. The strides made in healthcare reform particularly the revitalisation of the healthcare system evidenced by measurable improvements across numerous facilities demonstrates the administration’s unwavering commitment to public welfare.
“The state’s accelerated infrastructure development across urban and rural areas is a testament to its strategic vision for sustainable progress.
“In relation to local government administration, it is imperative to state that the Aiyedatiwa-led government operates strictly within the legal and constitutional framework guiding the three tiers of government. There has been no withholding of funds meant for the local governments. Instead, the state ensures their prudent and impactful deployment for grassroots development under the stewardship of the elected council chairmen.
“The APC in Ondo State urges citizens to disregard the spurious and politically motivated assertions of the so-called Ondo Redemption Front. These attempts to distract the public from the genuine progress being made are not only counterproductive but also regressive.
“We reaffirm our party’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive development. We call on all patriotic and well-meaning indigenes of Ondo State to rally around the administration in its noble quest to advance the collective good, rejecting the politics of falsehood, discord, and manipulation.
“The APC remains steadfast in its resolve to safeguard the mandate freely given by the people and to steer Ondo State toward greater heights under the purposeful leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
“We encourage citizens to stay vigilant, informed, and united in the face of distractions orchestrated by those who fear the momentum of genuine progress.
“Together, we will consolidate on the gains achieved and build a future anchored on integrity, service, and prosperity for all.”
