A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (SAN), has formally joined the race for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the coming election.

He spoke at the party’s secretariat in Osogbo, where he outlined a bold vision aimed at transforming Osun into a beacon of prosperity, good governance, and social justice.

While addressing a gathering of party leaders, elders, youth representatives, and supporters, Adegoke reflected on Osun’s journey, acknowledging both the state’s achievements and its pressing challenges.

He said, “Our youths are crying for jobs and opportunities. Our farmers struggle with food insecurity and unfair market prices. Our infrastructure, schools, and hospitals demand urgent attention.”

He emphasized the need for urgent and visionary leadership.

Adegoke’s platform centres on four core pillars:

  • economic revival with a focus on agriculture, mining, industrialization, and tourism;
  • transformation of education and healthcare;
  • comprehensive infrastructural development; and
  • enhanced security alongside transparent governance.

He promised an agricultural revolution, pledging to revive farm settlements, provide farmers with modern tools and seeds, and establish food processing hubs to create wealth and ensure food security.

On education and health, he vowed to invest in modernizing schools and hospitals, while prioritizing the welfare of teachers and healthcare workers.

Infrastructural development plans include the construction of durable roads, provision of clean water, and improved urban planning leveraging technology. Security and good governance remain a top priority, with commitments to fight corruption and ensure public funds serve the people.

“I offer you a platform of ideas, a record of integrity, and a promise of dedicated service,” Adegoke declared.

He called on all citizens to join hands in building an Osun where every child can dream, every young person can find meaningful employment, and every elder can live in dignity.

The declaration marks the beginning of what Adegoke describes as a “fresh start” for Osun State, driven by loyalty, service, and a shared commitment to progress.
