The All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in the 2026 Osun State election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), on Saturday received a rousing welcome from party leaders and members in Ede Federal Constituency.
Enthusiastic youths from the three local government areas in the constituency — Ede North, Ede South, and Egbedore — embarked on an early morning endurance trek through major streets of Ede, in a vibrant show of support for the AMBO movement.
In his address to the cheering crowd, Oyebamiji, who currently serves as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming turnout. He described it as a clear indication of the people’s readiness to embrace change and reclaim the state for the APC.
He said, “I am truly moved by the massive turnout, especially here in Ede — despite it being the hometown of the incumbent governor. The energy and commitment I’ve seen today are deeply encouraging. By God’s grace, on August 8, 2026, APC will win in Ede and across Osun State”.
He commended the leadership of the party in the constituency for its unity and dedication, noting that its efforts have laid the foundation for a strong and cohesive campaign. He also reaffirmed his commitment to good governance and called on party members to remain united in the mission to return APC to power.
His words: “This is a friendly match. We are all qualified, but we must work in unity to ensure victory for our party in 2026”.
Oyebamiji debunked the rumor that he had already appointed his prospective cabinet members.
He said, “I want to dispel the rumor that I have selected members of my cabinet ahead of time. That is a blatant lie. No such discussion has taken place, and I’ve made no appointments.
“Those supporting this movement do so because they believe in our vision and are committed to the cause” .
Also speaking at the event, the immediate past Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico and former two-term Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Ambassador Adejare Bello, assured party members of the readiness of stakeholders in the constituency to work towards APC’s victory. He praised Oyebamiji’s proven track record and urged unity among party loyalists.
Other key leaders from the constituency—Hon. Debo Akanbi, Hon. Gbadebo Ajao, Hon. Abiodun Awolola, Hon. Akinola Omolaoye, Hon. Mufutau Oyewale, and Hon. Ojo Johnson, among others — also pledged their full support for Oyebamiji’s candidacy.
They hailed his performance as a former Commissioner for Finance, describing his tenure as exceptional and results-driven.
The AMBO Movement had earlier visited Ayiwola Federal Constituency—comprising Olaoluwa, Ayedire, and Iwo Local Government Areas—where the team was warmly received by jubilant supporters.
