The All Progressives Congress in Ondo State is set to begin a fresh round of grassroots mobilisation on Friday as the party steps up preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The exercise will feature solidarity meetings across wards and units, with party leaders and political appointees expected to return to their respective communities to strengthen party structures and rally members.

The state APC Chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, said the party would sustain its mobilisation efforts at the grassroots to achieve its target of securing one million votes in the forthcoming elections.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the party’s state secretary, Alex Kalejaye, Babatunde urged political leaders and appointees at the federal and state levels to participate actively in the planned meetings.

He also called on APC candidates to mobilise their supporters to attend the gatherings in their respective wards and units, stressing the need to expand the party’s reach and strengthen its grassroots presence.

The chairman cautioned party members against statements and actions that could cause division, urging leaders to promote unity and inclusiveness during the meetings and other political activities.

The mobilisation drive follows the inauguration of the Ondo State APC Presidential Campaign Council and other committees on Saturday. At the event, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the party’s state leader, pledged to intensify grassroots engagement in support of APC candidates.

The planned meetings mark an early stage of the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections, as it seeks to consolidate its support base across Ondo State and work towards its one-million-vote target.
