Tinubu, Right, and others at the rally
Some aggrieved Nigerians have expressed their displeasure over the statements made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu that Peter Obi’s Labour Party and others will labour till death.
Tinubu, who is also the APC national leader said Labour Party and the likes are mushroom parties, a statement that has been greeted with outrageous remarks by tweeps.
Some tweeps who are Obidient movement members, on Twitter, said Tinubu is evil and arrogant for making such statements.
Tinubu made the statements on Sunday July 12 when he and other APC chieftains and stalwarts stormed Osun State in a reelection rally to campaign for Governor Gboyega Oyetola. The Osun state governorship election is scheduled to hold on July 16.
“Think about your children and vote accordingly so you can see the future. Come out en masse. Don’t mind PDP and other mushrooms parties – parties like Labour; they will labour till they die. God will not make you labourers,” Tinubu had said.
Gboyega Oyetola, the incumbent governor, is the flagbearer of the APC, while Ademola Adeleke is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Other candidates are Lasun Yusuf of Labour Party (LP), Akin Ogunbiyi of Accord, and Goke Omigbodun of Social Democratic Party (SDP).
While speaking at the rally, Tinubu described the PDP and LP as “mushroom parties.”
“I ask you to please do the same thing you did in Ekiti. Come out with your PVCs and vote massively for APC. The voting is now in your hand. Be very vigilant. Be watchful. You will not do it in vain.
“You’re next. We will be here till tomorrow. We will come back here for victory dance. Look at the trajectory of our lives. We make promises and fulfil them. We are the ones upholding the party, the Buhari party. Don’t answer the naysayers.”
Reacting on Twitter, @UchePOkoye reacted: “Tinubu said Obidients will Labour till they die. But his children are buying up the choicest areas in New York at $2m. This man is a definition of evil.”

“Tinubu said people will labour till they die,” @Maybeks tweeted. “A careless and insulting comment to political opponent(s). Tweeting for the record, because dead or alive, Tinubu will be trolled for this comment in future. When it happens, nobody should ask if people don’t have elders in their families.”
