The Chief imam of Akure kingdom Dr. AbdulAkeem Yaayi-Akorede has commended both the electorate and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the peace that reigned during and after the Ondo state gubernatorial election that held last Saturday.
He said this in his Jumat service today that all the fears and worries that people of Ondo state had before the election were finally put to rest with the ways and manners the INEC and the electorate conducted themselves during and after the election.
He thanked the people, both the observers, INEC Officials and security agents for the peace that accorded the whole process.
On the news being peddled around that the outcome of the election was as a result of the monies spent by the politicians during the election, he stressed that all the popular political parties that participated in the election spent money, but only that some might be more than the other.
He now pleaded with the people of the state to accept the outcome of the election with fate and see the outcome of the election as the Will of the Almighty.
The chief imam pleaded with the people of the state particularly all the Yoruba states to stop cursing themselves by saying that they have entered another four years of suffering and hunger, instead, they should pray for the government and themselves for good governance and for the Lord to open doors of total comfort and wealth for them and the peace of every home, state and the nation at large.
