Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State visit Rivers State Governor Nyseom Wike in Rivers State
Ex-Ekiti State Governor and stalwart of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Peter Ayodele Fayose on Friday led three governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to meet Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.
The former governor arrived at Wike’s residence with Governors Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State.
A closed-door meeting is ongoing between the APC governors and Wike.
Details of the closed-door meeting are not yet known but There are speculations that the mission is to woo Wike and other aggrieved PDP members to align with the ruling government ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Following the division that rocked the PDP after Atiku’s emergence, there had been reports that Tinubu and Wike met in France.
Recall Tinubu’s spokesperson, Tunde Rahman, describing the report as “fake news” at the time.
Wike was said to have shunned the emissaries of the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in Turkey few days back.
