Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has assured that the 2025 budget will be meticulously structured to capture the developmental needs of every part of the state.
The governor who is flying the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the November 16 Election, gave the pledge on Tuesday during his campaign tour at Ogbagi, where he met with traditional rulers from Akoko North-West Local Government area.
His words, “The 2025 budget will be well-structured to ensure that no part of Ondo State is left behind. We are already making progress across various sectors, but development is a process, and we must take it step by step. Infrastructure and other essential services will reach your region soon.”
The Governor also addressed concerns raised about individuals parading themselves as traditional rulers without official recognition.
“Anyone unlawfully conferring chieftaincy titles upon themselves will be arrested and charged to court; even recognised traditional rulers must stay within their jurisdictions to maintain order and respect for tradition,” he added.
Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to the monarchs for their support during the APC primaries and their renewed endorsement ahead of the November 16 gubernatorial election in the state.
He said, “I am thankful for the love and support you showed during the primaries. Your endorsement today strengthens my resolve to continue serving you diligently; all the monarchs across the local governments are speaking with one voice, endorsing our vision and backing this campaign.”
Speaking on behalf of the 27 traditional rulers in the area, the Owa of Ogbagi, Oba Olasehinde Ojo Adetona, assured the Governor of their unwavering support.
“In Akoko North West, there is no opposition against your candidacy. We will deliver our votes because we trust your leadership and know you will continue to perform excellently,” he said you HB
The monarch outlined the region’s developmental challenges, urging the Governor to address them.
“We have presented a list of our needs, and we appeal to you to prioritise fixing the roads damaged by trailers. We also need improvement in water supply, healthcare, and education,” he said.
The monarchs pledged their full support and expressed confidence in Aiyedatiwa’s ability to continue delivering development to their region and the entire state.
Oba Adetona further highlighted concerns over the improper use of chieftaincy titles.
“There are individuals awarding themselves titles, which goes against our customs. This matter requires urgent attention to safeguard our traditions,” he added.
Ifeoluwa Ehindero, member of the House of Representatives for Akoko North-East/Akoko North-West, also rallied support for the governor.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated outstanding leadership, and we must ensure he continues his work. I urge everyone to come out on election day and vote for him,” Ehindero said.
While addressing party faithful in Oke Irun, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa stressed the crucial role their unwavering support will play in securing victory for the party in the forthcoming election.
He stressed that the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) depends heavily on their unity, commitment, and active participation throughout the campaign and on election day.
“The strength of our party lies in your dedication and support, it is only through your collective effort that we can ensure our party emerges victorious on November 16. Every vote counts, and your mobilisation at the grassroots will make all the difference,” he said.
Aiyedatiwa further urged party members to remain resolute and focused, despite any challenge they may encounter during the campaign season.
“We must stay united and consistent in spreading our message of progress and continuity to every household. With your support, we will deliver on our promises and continue the developmental strides across Ondo State,” he added.
He also took the opportunity to remind them of the importance of turning out in large numbers on election day to secure the party’s success.
“We are not taking anything for granted, your participation is the foundation of our success,” he stressed.
At Afin-Akoko, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, while addressing enthusiastic supporters, explained that his decision to pass through all the major areas within the local government was deliberate.
He noted that by personally visiting these communities, he could better understand their challenges firsthand and gain deeper insight into their pressing needs. This campaign tour, he stressed, would enable him to take swift and targeted actions to address their concerns effectively.
“I came through every key area not by accident but intentionally, so I can see things for myself and listen to your challenges directly, this way, I can respond promptly and ensure that no issue affecting your communities is overlooked.”
He also used the opportunity to appeal to residents to cast their votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 16 election, assuring them that with their support, the ongoing developmental efforts would not only continue but also expand.
“Your vote is essential to keep the momentum going, together, we can push Ondo State further on the path of progress and ensure that no community is left behind.”
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive development, promising that the concerns raised during his visit would reflect in future planning and projects aimed at uplifting the area and improving the quality of life for all residents.
