We want saints, yet we are sinners

We want, indeed, demand saints as our leaders; while inwardly generally, we are unclean; while generally in our thoughts, words and deeds, we glorify and revere corruption and filth, secretly and even openly too.

We demand saints while our dominant thought is that of using the opportunity of an earthly office to amass or accumulate personal wealth, even above what we would ever need in this earth life; to amass and store wealth for our children, and even for those yet unborn; to further and perpetuate selfish, one sided and narrow interests.

To serve ourselves and those who are closest to us above all. To sit over the sharing, use and control of the commonwealth in the service mainly of narrow, one sided, selfish interests.

While the majority of human beings, of our people who look up to their leaders full of hope, for help, are hungry and thirsty; reeling in want and sickness; homeless and helpless; battling with the most excruciating poverty.

While sorrowfully, the swamp of immorality blossoms to our delight virtually everywhere. And we nurture its growth. To our own detriment.
