Top government officials say that Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s victory at the just conducted primary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, shows that he is popular and acceptable among the people of the state.
Reacting, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Olugbenga Ale, described the victory as best birthday gift to the Governor as the day of the primary coincided with his birthday, July 20.
Besides, he said it showed that the Governor is popular in the state, and that the party members still love him.Ale noted that achievements in all sectors of the economy in the last three and half years have justified the confidence the people of the state reposed in the his boss.
Chairman of the Akeredolu campaign and Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters and Strategy, who was a former Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly, Rt Hon Victor Afolabi Olabimtan, said he was happy that having worked so hard prior to the governorship primaries, they all achieved success.
On his own, Secretary to the State Government, Hon Tayo Oluwatuyi, was optimistic that with the various achievements statewide, the October 10 general election will be a walk over for Akeredolu.
Also, Chairman, Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OSSAA), Akinwande Akinrodoye and state Chairman of NURTW, Jacob Adebo, said Akeredolu would record a landslide victory in the October 10 election based on his laudable performance across the 18 local government areas of the state.
Akinrodoye appreciated all the delegates for standing by the Governor, saying that the second term of the Governor would also witness all round development as he is ready to do more for the people. A Federal Commissioner, NSIWC, at the Presidency, Onibudo ‘Wole Iroaye, described the victory as “a ringing declaration of support for Your Excellency’s dynamic and energetic leadership.”
In a statement, Iroaye said: “No doubt this primary election victory has confirmed that Y.E. is a consummate and shrewd politician of a strong character, whose ambition has always received divine intervention.
“Sir, to say that Y.E. are an ardent believer of destiny is an understatement. This has reflected in the various achievements Y.E. has made in life. It’s, therefore, worthwhile to say a big congratulation to you, sir, on your primary election success which coincided with Y.E.’s birthday.
“In the light of above, it’s my honour to wholeheartedly extend my felicitations to Y.E. on the occasion of Y.E.’s birthday. The Lord will continue to keep, preserve and uphold Y.E. Once again congratulations, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu!”
