To whom much is given much is expected

Reflection for the day

By Olubunmi Adebayo

*No less a person but Jesus Christ said :*
*”…..To whom much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.” (Lk 12:48).*

*Every one of us must understand that much has been invested in us. We therefore justify the investments that have gone into our lives.*

*Truthfully said, so much has been invested into our lives before we come this far in life : material investment, financial investment, moral investment, time investment, attitudinal investment, psychological investment, emotional investment, as well as spiritual investment ( some parents will go to any length to pray and fast for their children and wards.)*

*All with the intent and purpose that we shall do well in life and deliver on the terms of the investments into our lives.*

*Our parents and guardians have invested so much of their resources and time in us. Our children have invested so much of their hopes and expectations in us. Our friends and families have invested their trust and believe in us. God the Creator, had invested the very life we have, protections we have enjoyed and the opportunities that we have had thus far.*

*The big question before you is : “are you justifying these investments with your output thus far?” By output, I am not talking about how many cars you have bought, or how many houses you have built or how many titles you have picked up or awards you have won? (The above are very important no doubt)*

*Justifying the investments into your life will depend on how far you have progressed in the purposes and plans of God for your life. Also in the area of your life visions and expectations, and the potentials you still carry for the future ahead of you. It will also depend on how many lives you have impacted or set to impact.*

*And finally, it will depend on if you are still in the direction of accomplishing the visions for these investments or you have entirely abandoned the mission relating to your life altogether.*

*I ask you : “have you not disappointed in the visions and aspirations of the founding fathers of your life? As things stand today, to what extent are your parents proud of you on what you have succeeded in accomplishing or on the way to accomplishing? “*

*I will leave you to reflect on your possible answers.*
*Please do well not to blame any man or situation if the contrary has been the results thus far, but rather, do a thorough and sincere self assessment, and come to a self conclusion on the journey thus far with you and be determined to forge ahead with positive mindedness into the days ahead.*

*Operate life as a case of no retreat, no surrender. Know that if you give up, you give up on yourself. If you surrender, it will be to your own disappointment. If you are indeed determined, you will be surprised how much things will turn around for your good, if you are ready to give your “all shots” to it!*

Top of the day to you 👍
